Cultivated throughout the Italian peninsula, the Calabrian Broccoli has a compact, globular inflorescence with a typical green color, the inflorescence called corymbos is the noblest and most edible part of the plant.
Calabrian broccoli prefers fresh, deep, medium-textured soils rich in organic matter with high water levels, it loves cool autumn and winter temperatures, its optimum for the formation of the corymb is 16 ° C, above 18 ° C the transition from the vegetative phase to the reproductive phase is delayed.
Calabrian broccoli is grown at different times of the year depending on the geographical area, the head and leaves are collected close to the corymb in order to safeguard their freshness.
